How do I grieve Your Spirit that’s now within?

   Is it when I hold you prisoner and won’t believe You to win?

When You wrote You were grieved at Lazarus’ grave-site,

   were You grieved that they didn’t see that You had the right...

to restore to wholeness, the one You created?

   Was that you are Resurrection itself, not anticipated?

Yet, the girls said they knew at the last day, You’d raise...;

   Did they think for this event, Lazarus wouldn’t be saved?

These aren’t “power acts” that we just randomly do; 

   Is that what You were saying? That’s what I’m asking You.

You always received instruction from Your Father...

   in everything that You did;

Have we by-passed this and childishly thought...

   we could do all things that we’ve read?

Is this grieving Your Spirit because we treat You as dead...

   and, like Mary and Martha, refuse to be led...

to understanding so that You can reveal...

   a way of life that The Liar can’t steal? 

You’ve left in writing a strong legacy...

   never intended to keep You from me...

so that I would know and, in confidence, grow...

   to be involved with You personally.

By that, I mean, Your glory would be seen...

   what I’ve been transformed into...

Is that what You mean?

Then, in all things I’d do what you indicate;

   Is it for Your will revealed that I just couldn’t wait?

Because I read it, did I too quickly leave...

   and, because of this knowledge, continue to “grieve”?
